Prakash Joshi was born in Uganda and comes from a family of musicians. His father Vinod Joshi and uncle Rupshankar Joshi are both fine Musicians. His first appeareance on TV was at the age of 17 years with a group called "Savannah Swingers" belting out songs by Elvis, "The Beatles" and "The Monkees". For the past thirty years, though he has focused more on Indian semi-classical music.

Vancouver Folk Music Festival – 2006 The Vancouver Folk Music Festival is produced annually by the Vancouver Folk Festival Society, a registered non-profit society. The 29th Music Festival held during the three days, 14, 15, and 16th July, 2006 at Jericho beach attracted, as usual musicians from as far as Australia, New Zealand, U.K., Denmark, India and of course numerous artists from the North American continent as well.
